Charing Church stands at the heart of the village, next to the remains of the Archbishop’s Palace. The west tower is over 600 years old, though the rest of the church was rebuilt in the sixteenth century.
The church contains 17th-century chandeliers and a rare 17th-century vamping horn used to amplify the choir and make announcements. The St Richard’s chapel is so named because St Richard visited as he walked through on the way to Chichester.
